  • 1 cup dark chocolate chips
  • Edible eyeballs (for decoration)
  • Gory decorations (optional, for presentation)

Instructions

  1. Mix the dry ingredients in a large bowl.
  2. Whisk together the wet ingredients in another bowl and combine with the dry ingredients.
  3. Gradually mix in boiling water to create a smooth batter.
  4. Pour the batter into a brain-shaped cake pan and bake at 350°F (175°C) for 30-35 minutes.
  5. Let the cake cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
  6. If using a round pan, trim and stack the cake halves to create a brain shape.
  7. Beat the butter and gradually add powdered sugar to make frosting, then divide and color with food coloring.
