Description

Oven-cooked steak is a delicious way to prepare steak with even heat distribution, achieving a perfect sear while keeping the inside juicy and tender.

Ingredients

  • Ribeye steak: 2 pieces, about 1 inch thick (approximately 1 lb each)
  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
  • Fresh rosemary: 2 sprigs, chopped (or 1 teaspoon dried)
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper: 1 teaspoon
  • Butter: 2 tablespoons (for basting)

Instructions

  1. Select the right cut of meat, preferably ribeye for its marbling.
  2. Prepare the steak by patting it dry and letting it sit at room temperature for 30 minutes.
  3. Season the steak with a mixture of olive oil, minced garlic, chopped rosemary, salt, and black pepper.
  4. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  5. In a hot skillet, sear the seasoned steaks for 3-4 minutes on each side, then baste with butter.
  6. Transfer the skillet to the preheated oven and bake for 6-10 minutes, checking the internal temperature.
  7. Let the steak rest for 5-10 minutes before slicing.

Notes

  • Experiment with different herbs and spices for unique flavors.
  • Use a meat thermometer for accurate doneness.
