- 1/2 teaspoon finely grated lime zest
- 1 tablespoon plus 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt
- 1 lime wedge
- 6 ounces watermelon juice (store-bought or homemade)
- 3 ounces tequila
- 2 ounces fresh lime juice
- 2 ounces triple sec
- Ice
- 6 thinly sliced jalapeño rounds (divided)
- Watermelon wedges, for garnish
- Lime rounds, for garnish
Instructions
- Mix granulated sugar, lime zest, and 1 tablespoon kosher salt on a shallow plate. Rub lime wedge along rims of glasses and dip rims in the mixture.
- In a cocktail shaker, combine watermelon juice, tequila, lime juice, and triple sec.
- Add ice to the shaker, along with 4 jalapeño slices and the remaining 1/8 teaspoon kosher salt.
- Shake vigorously for 20 seconds until well chilled.
- Strain into prepared glasses filled with fresh ice.
- Garnish with watermelon wedges, lime rounds, and remaining jalapeño slices. Serve immediately.

- Use fresh, ripe watermelon for better flavor if juicing at home.
- Adjust jalapeño quantity based on your spice preference.
- For a smoky twist, substitute tequila with mezcal.
