  • Ground nutmeg: 1/4 teaspoon
  • All-purpose flour: 1 cup
  • Butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick), softened
  • Rolled oats: 1 cup
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
  • Milk: 1/4 cup (optional)

Instructions

  1. Wash the cranberries and remove any stems or damaged berries. Peel and slice the apples into thin wedges.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine cranberries, apple slices, 1/2 cup brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Toss gently.
  3. In another bowl, mix flour, remaining brown sugar, oats, baking powder, and salt. Add softened butter and blend until crumbly. Optionally, stir in milk.
  4. Pour the fruit mixture into a greased 9-inch baking dish. Spoon the cobbler topping over the fruit.
  5. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and bake for 35-40 minutes until golden brown and bubbling. Let cool for 10-15 minutes before serving.
