Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, salt, cinnamon, ginger, nutmeg, and cloves.
- In a separate bowl, beat the softened butter until creamy, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, followed by the vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the butter mixture, alternating with the milk and brewed chai tea, mixing until just combined.
- Divide the batter evenly among the cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full, and bake for 18-20 minutes. Check for doneness with a toothpick.
- While the cupcakes cool, prepare the frosting by beating the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, chai tea, vanilla extract, and salt, beating until light and fluffy.
- Once the cupcakes are completely cool, frost them using a piping bag and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. Optionally, decorate with mini chai tea bags.
