Description

A delicious and easy-to-make shrimp balls recipe that combines fresh shrimp with flavorful ingredients for a perfect appetizer or snack.

Ingredients

  • Fresh shrimp: 500 grams, peeled and deveined.
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, minced.
  • Green onions: 2, finely chopped.
  • Breadcrumbs: 1 cup (preferably panko for extra crunch).
  • Egg: 1 large.
  • Ginger: 1 tablespoon, grated.
  • Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons.
  • Sesame oil: 1 tablespoon.
  • Salt: 1 teaspoon.
  • Pepper: to taste.
  • Oil: for frying (vegetable or canola).

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp by ensuring they are fresh, peeled, and deveined. Pulse in a food processor until finely chopped but not pureed.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, combine the chopped shrimp with minced garlic, chopped green onions, breadcrumbs, egg, grated ginger, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix until well combined.
  3. Wet your hands and roll the mixture into balls about the size of a golf ball.
  4. Heat about 1 inch of oil in a skillet over medium-high heat. Fry the shrimp balls in batches for about 4-5 minutes on each side until golden brown and crispy.

Notes

  • Use fresh shrimp for the best flavor.
  • Consider baking instead of frying for a healthier option.
  • Customize the recipe by adding chili paste for a spicy variation.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
