Description

Savory cheesesteak tortellini with creamy provolone sauce is a comforting meal that combines the rich flavors of a classic cheesesteak with the delightful texture of cheese-filled pasta.

Ingredients

  • Cheese tortellini: 12 oz (fresh or frozen)
  • Thinly sliced steak: 1 lb (ribeye or sirloin)
  • Bell peppers: 1 cup, sliced
  • Onions: 1 cup, sliced
  • Provolone cheese: 1 cup, shredded
  • Heavy cream: 1 cup
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
  • Italian seasoning: 1 teaspoon
  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt and pepper: to taste
  • Fresh parsley: for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Cook the cheese tortellini in a large pot of salted boiling water according to package instructions, about 3-5 minutes, until al dente. Drain and set aside.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Sauté sliced onions and bell peppers for 5-7 minutes until soft and caramelized. Season with salt and pepper, then remove from skillet.
  3. In the same skillet, add thinly sliced steak, season with salt, pepper, and Italian seasoning. Cook for 3-5 minutes until browned, then remove from skillet.
  4. Lower the heat and add minced garlic to the skillet, sauté for 30 seconds. Pour in heavy cream and bring to a gentle simmer. Stir in shredded provolone cheese until melted and smooth.
  5. Add cooked tortellini, sautéed vegetables, and steak back into the skillet. Toss gently until well coated and heated through.
  6. Serve warm, garnished with fresh parsley if desired.

Notes

  • Fresh tortellini is preferred for better texture and flavor.
  • Consider adding Worcestershire sauce or red pepper flakes for extra flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
