  • 1 lb (450 g) sausage: Choose your favorite type, such as Italian, smoked, or chicken sausage.
  • 4 cups green cabbage: Chopped, about half a medium head.
  • 1 medium onion: Sliced thinly.
  • 1 bell pepper: Sliced, any color.
  • 3 cloves garlic: Minced.
  • 3 tablespoons soy sauce: Low-sodium for a healthier choice.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil: For cooking.
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper: For seasoning.
  • 1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes: Adjust to taste.

Instructions

  1. Prepare all ingredients: slice sausage, chop cabbage, slice onion and bell pepper, and mince garlic.
  2. Heat olive oil in a large skillet or wok over medium-high heat and cook the sausage for 5-7 minutes until browned.
  3. Add sliced onion and bell pepper to the skillet and sauté for 3-4 minutes until softened.
  4. Add minced garlic and cook for an additional minute.
  5. Stir in chopped cabbage and cook for 5-7 minutes until tender but still crunchy.
  6. Return the cooked sausage to the skillet, add soy sauce, black pepper, and red pepper flakes, and stir well.
  7. Cook for another 2-3 minutes to heat through, then serve warm.
