Description
Salted caramel blondies are a delightful treat that combines the rich flavor of caramel with the chewy, buttery goodness of blondies.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (2 sticks) unsalted butter (melted)
- 1 ½ cups brown sugar (packed)
- 2 large eggs
- 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
- 2 ¼ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ teaspoon baking powder
- ½ teaspoon baking soda
- ½ teaspoon salt
- 1 cup salted caramel sauce (store-bought or homemade)
- Sea salt for sprinkling (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease a 9×13-inch baking pan or line with parchment paper.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the melted butter and brown sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract.
- In another bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. Fold the dry mixture into the wet mixture until just combined.
- Pour half of the batter into the prepared pan. Drizzle half of the salted caramel sauce over it. Add the rest of the batter and drizzle the remaining caramel sauce on top. Swirl the caramel gently into the batter with a knife or toothpick.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes or until edges are golden and a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the blondies cool for 15-20 minutes before sprinkling with sea salt. Once completely cool, cut into squares or rectangles and enjoy.
Notes
- For a vegan version, use flax eggs and dairy-free butter or oil.
- Substitute white sugar for brown sugar for a lighter flavor.
- Homemade caramel sauce can be used instead of store-bought caramel.
