Description

Red Velvet Cheesecake Brownies combine the rich, chocolatey flavor of red velvet cake with a creamy cheesecake topping for a decadent treat.


Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
  • 1 ounce red food coloring
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 teaspoon distilled white vinegar

  • 2 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 3/4 cup all-purpose flour
  • 1 package (8 ounces) cream cheese, at room temperature
  • 1/4 cup white sugar (for cheesecake filling)
  • 1 large egg (for cheesecake filling)
  • 1/4 teaspoon vanilla extract (for cheesecake filling)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease an 8×8 inch baking pan.
  2. In a mixing bowl, whisk together sugar and melted butter. Add cocoa powder, red food coloring, vanilla extract, vinegar, and salt, then mix well.
  3. Add the eggs and mix again. Stir in flour until just combined.
  4. In a separate bowl, beat cream cheese until fluffy. Gradually add sugar, egg, and vanilla extract, and blend until smooth.
  5. Pour most of the red velvet batter into the prepared pan. Set aside 1/4 cup of batter.
  6. Drop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over the brownie batter. Drizzle the remaining red velvet batter over the top and swirl with a knife or skewer.
  7. Bake for 30-35 minutes, or until the top is dry and the edges pull away from the pan. Cool completely before cutting into bars.
