- 2 cups sliced purple cabbage
- 4 cups boiling water
- 8 oz tequila
- 4 oz triple sec
- 3 oz freshly squeezed lime juice
- 1 cup lemonade
- 4 lime wedges for garnish
- 1/4 cup kosher salt or coarse sea salt for the rim
Instructions
- Place sliced purple cabbage in a heatproof bowl and pour boiling water over it. Let steep for 5 minutes, then strain and cool the liquid.
- Pour cooled cabbage water into ice cube trays and freeze until solid (about 4 hours).
- In a pitcher, mix tequila, triple sec, lime juice, and lemonade. Stir well and adjust to taste.
- Rim serving glasses with lime juice and dip into kosher salt. Fill each glass with cabbage ice cubes.
- Pour the margarita mix over the cabbage ice in each glass. Garnish with lime wedges and serve immediately.
