- 4 boneless, skinless chicken breasts (about 1.5 lbs or 680 g)
- 1 cup barbecue sauce
- 1 medium onion, finely chopped
- 3 cloves garlic, minced
- 1/4 cup apple cider vinegar
- 1/4 cup brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 1 teaspoon chili powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Fresh herbs (such as parsley or cilantro) for garnish
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients.
- Prepare the chicken by trimming excess fat and seasoning lightly with salt and pepper.
- Mix the BBQ sauce, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, smoked paprika, chili powder, salt, and black pepper in a bowl.
- Place the chicken in the crock pot and pour the BBQ sauce mixture over it.
- Cover and set the crock pot to cook on low for 6-8 hours or on high for 3-4 hours.
- Once cooked, shred the chicken with two forks and return it to the sauce in the crock pot.
