Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter
- 2 cups (400 g) granulated sugar
- 4 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 cup (125 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 cup (90 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 teaspoon baking powder
- 1 cup (175 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar
- 2 tablespoons milk
- 1 teaspoon green food coloring
- 1 teaspoon corn syrup
- 1/2 cup (90 g) semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 tablespoon butter
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking pan by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper.
- Sift together the all-purpose flour, cocoa powder, salt, and baking powder in a separate bowl.
- Melt the unsalted butter in a medium saucepan over low heat, then stir in the granulated sugar until combined. Allow to cool slightly before whisking in the eggs and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined. Fold in the semi-sweet chocolate chips.
- Pour the brownie batter into the prepared baking pan and spread evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes, checking for doneness with a toothpick.
- Allow the brownies to cool completely in the pan before lifting them out and cutting into squares.
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, replace all-purpose flour with a gluten-free flour blend.
- For a vegan adaptation, substitute eggs with flaxseed meal or applesauce and use vegan butter.
- Consider adding apple slices as a garnish for a fun twist.
