- For the crust:
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/4 cup granulated sugar
- 1/2 cup unsalted butter, softened
- For the filling:
- 3 large eggs
- 1 cup light corn syrup
- 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
- 1 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup chopped pecans
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
- Mix flour and sugar, cut in softened butter until it resembles coarse crumbs. Press into the prepared baking dish and bake for 15 minutes, or until golden.
- In a large bowl, whisk eggs, corn syrup, brown sugar, vanilla, and salt. Stir in chopped pecans.
- Pour the filling over the baked crust and spread evenly. Return to oven and bake for 25-30 minutes, until the filling is set and firm.
- Let the bars cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Allow the bars to cool completely before cutting to prevent them from falling apart.
- Don’t overbake, as this can dry out the filling.
- Toast the pecans for added flavor.
