Description
Pear Walnut Blondies are a delightful twist on the classic blondie dessert, made with ripe pears and crunchy walnuts, offering a rich and chewy texture.
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter: 1 cup (226 grams), melted
- Brown sugar: 1 cup (220 grams), packed
- Granulated sugar: 1/2 cup (100 grams)
- Eggs: 2 large
- Vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons
- All-purpose flour: 2 cups (240 grams)
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- Ripe pears: 2 medium, peeled, cored, and diced
- Chopped walnuts: 1 cup (120 grams), toasted if desired
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking pan by greasing it and lining it with parchment paper.
- Mix the dry ingredients: whisk together flour, baking powder, and salt in a separate bowl.
- Combine the wet ingredients: in a large mixing bowl, whisk together melted butter, brown sugar, and granulated sugar, then add eggs and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients, stirring gently until just combined, then fold in the diced pears and chopped walnuts.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the blondies cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then lift them out using the parchment overhang and cool completely on a wire rack before cutting into pieces.
Notes
- Choose ripe pears for the best flavor and moisture.
- Store blondies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for longer storage.
- Consider adding chocolate chips or using different nuts for variations.
