Description
Peanut Butter Miso Cookies are a unique treat that combines creamy peanut butter and savory miso paste, creating a delightful fusion of sweet and umami flavors.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 cup creamy peanut butter
- 1/2 cup miso paste (preferably white or yellow)
- 1 cup brown sugar
- 1/2 cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1 cup all-purpose flour
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (optional)
- Sea salt, for sprinkling on top
Instructions
- Gather your ingredients and measure them out.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine the creamy peanut butter, miso paste, brown sugar, and granulated sugar. Mix until smooth and creamy.
- Add the egg and vanilla extract to the mixture and mix until fully incorporated.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the baking soda, salt, and all-purpose flour. Gradually add this dry mixture to the wet ingredients and stir gently until just combined.
- Using a tablespoon or cookie scoop, portion out the dough and roll it into balls. Place them on a prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each cookie.
- Press down on each cookie ball slightly and sprinkle a small pinch of sea salt on top. Bake in a preheated oven for 10-12 minutes.
- Once baked, let the cookies cool on the baking sheet for about 5 minutes before transferring them to a wire rack to cool completely.
Notes
- Choose white or yellow miso for a milder flavor.
- Store cookies in an airtight container at room temperature for up to a week.
- Freeze cookies for longer storage, up to three months.
