Description
Peanut Butter Chocolate Cereal Bars are a quick, no-bake snack made with peanut butter, chocolate, and cereal. Perfect for breakfast or as an energy-boosting snack.
Ingredients
Scale
- 2 cups cereal (such as Rice Krispies or oats)
- 1 cup peanut butter (smooth or crunchy)
- 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup
- 1/2 cup chocolate chips (semi-sweet or milk chocolate)
- 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional)
Instructions
- Choose your favorite cereal and measure out 2 cups. Set aside in a large mixing bowl.
- In a small saucepan, combine 1 cup peanut butter and 1/2 cup honey or maple syrup. Heat over low to medium heat, stirring until combined (3-5 minutes). Remove from heat and stir in 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (optional).
- Pour the peanut butter mixture over the cereal and stir to coat evenly.
- Fold in 1/2 cup chocolate chips. They will melt slightly with the warm mixture.
- Line an 8×8 inch pan with parchment paper. Transfer the mixture into the pan and press it down firmly with a spatula or your hands to form an even layer.
- Refrigerate for 1-2 hours to set. Once hardened, lift the bars out using the parchment paper and cut into squares or rectangles.
Notes
- Ensure the mixture is pressed firmly into the pan to prevent crumbly bars.
- Be careful not to overheat the peanut butter and sweetener mixture.
- If the mixture is too dry, add more peanut butter or sweetener to achieve desired consistency.
