  • Bread stuffing: 4 cups of cubed bread

  • Fresh herbs: 2 tablespoons each of chopped sage and thyme
  • Butter: 1/2 cup of softened butter
  • Salt and pepper: 2 teaspoons of salt and 1 teaspoon of pepper
  • Chicken broth: 2 cups of chicken broth
  • Fruits: Chopped apples or cranberries (optional)
  • Nuts: Walnuts or pecans (optional)
  • Spices: Nutmeg or cinnamon (optional)
  • Vegetables: Carrots or bell peppers (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the turkey by removing giblets and neck, rinsing, patting dry, rubbing with olive oil, and seasoning with salt and pepper.
  2. Make the stuffing by sautéing onion, celery, and garlic in butter, then mixing with bread, herbs, salt, pepper, and chicken broth.
  3. Loosely stuff the turkey cavity with the prepared stuffing.
