Ingredients

Scale
  • Cooking spray
  • 10 graham crackers, finely crushed (about 1 1/2 cups)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/4 teaspoon kosher salt
  • 8 oz cream cheese, room temperature
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons pure vanilla extract
  • 2 cups Cool Whip, divided
  • 1 cup boiling water
  • 6 oz Jell-O orange flavor gelatin
  • 3 1/2 cups Cool Whip, divided

Instructions

  1. Lightly grease an 8×8-inch baking pan and line with parchment paper with 2-inch overhang; grease parchment.
  2. Mix crushed graham crackers, granulated sugar, melted butter, and salt until crumbly but firm.
  3. Press crust mixture firmly into bottom of prepared pan; refrigerate.
  4. Beat cream cheese, powdered sugar, and vanilla until smooth; fold in 1 cup Cool Whip, then remaining 1 cup Cool Whip.
  5. Spread vanilla layer evenly over crust; refrigerate to set.
  6. Dissolve orange gelatin in boiling water; chill until room temperature.
  7. Whisk in 2 cups Cool Whip into cooled gelatin; spread over vanilla layer.
  8. Cover and refrigerate 1 hour or up to 3 days until orange layer sets.
  9. Spread remaining 1 1/2 cups Cool Whip over orange layer.
  10. Run spatula around edges, lift bars using parchment, and cut into squares before serving.

Notes

  • Allow each layer to set fully before adding the next for best texture.
  • Ensure cream cheese is room temperature and smooth to avoid lumps.
  • Cool gelatin mixture to room temperature before adding Cool Whip to prevent melting.
  • Use parchment overhang to easily lift dessert from pan.
  • Optional: add orange zest to gelatin for enhanced flavor.
  • Freeze bars with parchment between layers to avoid sticking.
