Ingredients

  • ½ cup Nutella (plus extra for swirling)
  • Optional: ½ cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a muffin tin by greasing it or lining with muffin liners.
  2. In a bowl, combine flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, and salt. Whisk well.
  3. In another bowl, whisk together egg, milk, vegetable oil, and vanilla extract until smooth.
  4. Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until combined. Fold in Nutella, keeping some aside for swirling.
  5. Fill each muffin cup two-thirds full, adding a spoonful of Nutella into the center and topping with the remaining batter to create a swirl effect.
  6. Bake for 18-20 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Let cool for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.
