Matcha cream puffs are delightful pastries filled with a rich and creamy matcha-flavored filling, made from light and airy choux pastry.

Ingredients

  • Water: 1 cup (240 ml)
  • Unsalted Butter: 1/2 cup (115 g)
  • All-Purpose Flour: 1 cup (125 g)
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon
  • Eggs: 4 large eggs
  • Matcha Powder: 1 tablespoon
  • Heavy Cream: 1 cup (240 ml)
  • Granulated Sugar: 1/2 cup (100 g)
  • Cornstarch: 1 tablespoon
  • Vanilla Extract: 1 teaspoon
  • Powdered Sugar: For dusting

Instructions

  1. Prepare the choux pastry by combining water and butter in a saucepan, heating until melted, then adding flour and salt.
  2. Make the matcha cream filling by whisking sugar, cornstarch, and matcha powder, then adding heavy cream and cooking until thickened.
  3. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the choux pastry for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  4. Assemble the cream puffs by filling them with the chilled matcha cream and dusting with powdered sugar.

Notes
