  • Brown sugar: 1/4 cup (50 g)
  • Egg: 1 large
  • Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon (5 ml)
  • Baking powder: 1 teaspoon (5 g)
  • Salt: 1/4 teaspoon (1 g)

Instructions

  1. Cream together the softened unsalted butter, granulated sugar, and brown sugar in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
  2. Divide the dough into two equal portions; one will remain plain and the other will be flavored with matcha.
  3. Add matcha powder to the second portion of dough and mix until the color is evenly distributed.
  4. Roll out each portion of dough to about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick and cut into strips.
  5. Chill the dough wrapped in plastic wrap for at least 1 hour.
