Description

Maple Walnut Blondies are a delightful dessert that combines the warmth of maple syrup with the crunch of walnuts, offering a rich, caramel-like flavor and chewy texture.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup (225 g) unsalted butter, melted
  • 1 cup (200 g) brown sugar, packed
  • 1/2 cup (100 g) granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • 2 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 2 cups (250 g) all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup (120 g) walnuts, chopped
  • 1/2 cup (120 ml) pure maple syrup (for glaze)
  • 1 cup (120 g) powdered sugar (for glaze)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
  2. Prepare a 9×13 inch (23×33 cm) baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  3. In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.
  4. Cream the melted butter with the brown sugar and granulated sugar in a large mixing bowl.
  5. Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in the vanilla extract.
  6. Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
  7. Fold in the chopped walnuts and drizzle in a bit of maple syrup if desired.
  8. Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
  9. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean or with a few moist crumbs.
  10. Let the blondies cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.

Notes

  • Choose fresh walnuts for the best flavor and texture.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
  • For longer storage, refrigerate or freeze the blondies wrapped tightly in plastic wrap.
