- 3 ripe bananas
- 1/2 cup (120 ml) maple syrup
- 1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
- 2 large eggs
- 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
- 1 1/2 cups (190 g) all-purpose flour
- 1 teaspoon baking soda
- 1/4 teaspoon salt
- 1/2 cup (60 g) walnuts
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare a 9×5-inch loaf pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, mash the ripe bananas and mix in melted butter, maple syrup, eggs, and vanilla extract until smooth.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, and salt.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the banana mixture, stirring gently until just combined.
- Fold in the chopped walnuts and additional maple syrup if desired.
- Pour the batter into the prepared loaf pan and smooth the top.
- Bake for 50-60 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.
- Cool in the pan for 10 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before slicing.
Notes
- Use very ripe bananas for the best sweetness.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days.
