Maple Pecan Pear Blondies are a delightful dessert that combines the rich flavors of maple syrup, crunchy pecans, and sweet, juicy pears, offering a chewy texture and a unique flavor.
Ingredients
- Unsalted butter: 1/2 cup (113 grams), melted
- Brown sugar: 1 cup (200 grams), packed
- Maple syrup: 1/4 cup (60 ml)
- Eggs: 2 large
- All-purpose flour: 1 cup (125 grams)
- Baking powder: 1 teaspoon
- Chopped pecans: 1/2 cup (60 grams), toasted
- Diced pears: 1 cup (about 2 medium pears)
- Vanilla extract: 1 teaspoon
- Salt: a pinch
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, baking powder, and salt.
- In a large mixing bowl, combine melted butter and brown sugar, whisk until smooth, then stir in maple syrup and vanilla extract, followed by the eggs one at a time.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently until just combined, then fold in the diced pears and toasted pecans.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly. Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- Let the blondies cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Choose ripe but firm pears, such as Bartlett or Bosc.
- Store leftovers in an airtight container at room temperature for up to three days or refrigerate for up to a week.
- For gluten-free, substitute all-purpose flour with a gluten-free blend.
- For vegan, replace eggs with flaxseed meal or applesauce and use plant-based butter.
