Description
Maple Pecan Cranberry Donuts are a delightful treat that combines the rich flavors of maple syrup, crunchy pecans, and tart cranberries, baked to perfection for a lighter option.
Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 2 cups (240 grams)
- Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
- Ground cinnamon: 1 teaspoon
- Eggs: 2 large
- Milk: 3/4 cup (180 milliliters)
- Maple syrup: 1/2 cup (120 milliliters)
- Chopped pecans: 1/2 cup (60 grams)
- Dried cranberries: 1/2 cup (60 grams)
- Powdered sugar: for dusting (optional)
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and grease your donut pan.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, baking powder, salt, and cinnamon.
- In a separate bowl, beat the eggs, then add milk and maple syrup, mixing until fully incorporated.
- Pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients and stir gently until just combined. Fold in the chopped pecans and dried cranberries.
- Fill each cavity of the donut pan about two-thirds full with the batter.
- Bake for 10-12 minutes until golden brown and a toothpick comes out clean.
- Let the donuts cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack. Optionally, glaze with powdered sugar mixed with maple syrup or dust with powdered sugar.
Notes
- Use unbleached flour for better texture.
- Opt for pure maple syrup for richer flavor.
- Choose unsweetened cranberries to balance sweetness.
- Freshly chopped pecans add crunch; toasting them enhances flavor.
