Description

Mango Tart is a delightful dessert with a crisp shell and creamy mango filling. A perfect tropical treat for warm-weather gatherings or special occasions.


Ingredients

  • 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
  • ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 large egg yolk
  • 23 tablespoons cold water
  • 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
  • 1 cup heavy cream
  • ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
  • 1 tablespoon cornstarch
  • A pinch of salt

Instructions

  1. Combine flour and sugar, then cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the egg yolk, then cold water, mixing until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
  2. Roll out dough into a ¼ inch thick circle. Press it into a tart pan and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
  3. Bake the crust at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
  4. Blend mangoes, cream, condensed milk, lime juice, cornstarch, and salt until smooth. Pour into cooled crust and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.

Notes

  • For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour.
  • Use coconut cream in place of heavy cream for a tropical twist.
  • If mangoes are out of season, use canned mango pulp or frozen mango (thawed and drained).
  • Chill the tart long enough for the filling to set properly.
