Description
Mango Tart is a delightful dessert with a crisp shell and creamy mango filling. A perfect tropical treat for warm-weather gatherings or special occasions.
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ½ cups all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsalted butter, cold and cubed
- ¼ cup granulated sugar
- 1 large egg yolk
- 2–3 tablespoons cold water
- 2 ripe mangoes, peeled and diced
- 1 cup heavy cream
- ½ cup sweetened condensed milk
- 2 tablespoons fresh lime juice
- 1 tablespoon cornstarch
- A pinch of salt
Instructions
- Combine flour and sugar, then cut in the butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs. Add the egg yolk, then cold water, mixing until dough forms. Chill for 30 minutes.
- Roll out dough into a ¼ inch thick circle. Press it into a tart pan and refrigerate for 15 minutes.
- Bake the crust at 350°F (175°C) for 15-20 minutes until golden. Cool completely.
- Blend mangoes, cream, condensed milk, lime juice, cornstarch, and salt until smooth. Pour into cooled crust and refrigerate for 2 hours or overnight.
Notes
- For a gluten-free version, substitute all-purpose flour with almond flour.
- Use coconut cream in place of heavy cream for a tropical twist.
- If mangoes are out of season, use canned mango pulp or frozen mango (thawed and drained).
- Chill the tart long enough for the filling to set properly.
