Description

Mama’s Banana Pudding is a cherished dessert that combines creamy layers of pudding, fresh bananas, and crunchy vanilla wafers, evoking memories of family gatherings and celebrations.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe bananas
  • 1 box (3.4 oz) vanilla pudding mix
  • 1 can (14 oz) sweetened condensed milk
  • 2 cups cold milk
  • 1 tub (8 oz) whipped cream
  • 1 box (11 oz) vanilla wafers
  • Ground cinnamon

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the vanilla pudding mix and sweetened condensed milk. Whisk until well blended.
  2. Gradually add the cold milk while whisking to create a smooth mixture. Let it sit for about 5 minutes to thicken.
  3. In a large serving dish, layer vanilla wafers, sliced bananas, and the pudding mixture. Repeat the layers until all ingredients are used, finishing with pudding on top.
  4. Spread whipped cream over the top layer of pudding and sprinkle with ground cinnamon. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours before serving.

Notes

  • Choose ripe bananas that are yellow with a few brown spots for the best flavor.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 days.
  • To prevent bananas from browning, sprinkle lemon juice over the slices before layering.
