Description
Magic Cookie Bars are a sweet, layered dessert made with chocolate, coconut, nuts, and a graham cracker crust. Perfect for any occasion!
Ingredients
Scale
- 1 ¾ cups graham cracker crumbs
- ½ cup unsalted butter, melted
- 1 cup sweetened shredded coconut
- 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips
- 1 cup butterscotch chips
- 1 cup chopped nuts (walnuts or pecans)
- 1 (14 oz) can sweetened condensed milk
Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Grease a 9×13 inch baking pan with butter or cooking spray. Optionally, line with parchment paper.
- In a mixing bowl, combine graham cracker crumbs and melted butter. Press into the bottom of the prepared pan to form the crust.
- Layer the shredded coconut, chocolate chips, butterscotch chips, and chopped nuts evenly over the crust.
- Drizzle sweetened condensed milk over the entire mixture, covering everything evenly.
- Bake for 25-30 minutes until the edges are golden brown. The center may appear soft but will firm up as it cools.
- Let the bars cool for 10-15 minutes before slicing into squares or rectangles.
Notes
- Press the crust down firmly to avoid a crumbly base.
- Don’t overbake the bars; remove them once they’re set with golden edges.
- For cleaner cuts, chill the bars before slicing.
- Ensure fresh ingredients, especially the coconut and condensed milk, for the best flavor.
