Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 1 cup packed brown sugar
  • 2 cups oats
  • 1 cup flour
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 2 tsp vanilla extract
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • For frosting:
  • 1 cup peanut butter
  • 4 cups powdered sugar
  • 1/4 cup milk
  • 1 tsp vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a 9×13-inch baking dish with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together softened butter, sugar, and brown sugar until light and fluffy.
  3. Add peanut butter and vanilla extract to the creamed mixture and mix well.
  4. Stir in oats, flour, baking soda, and salt until well combined into a thick batter.
  5. Spread batter evenly in the prepared baking dish and bake for 20-25 minutes until edges are golden and center is set but slightly soft.

  7. Mix peanut butter, powdered sugar, milk, and vanilla extract until smooth and creamy to make frosting.
  8. Spread frosting evenly over cooled base, then cut into bars and serve.

Notes

  • Do not overbake to keep bars chewy and moist.
  • Use high-quality natural peanut butter for best flavor.
  • Allow base to cool completely before frosting to prevent melting.
  • Measure ingredients accurately for best texture.
