  • 2 tablespoons olive oil
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon black pepper
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 teaspoon fresh thyme leaves (or 1/2 teaspoon dried thyme)

  • 1 cup sour cream
  • 1 cup Gruyère cheese, shredded
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese (optional, for extra flavor)

Instructions

  1. Peel and thinly slice the sweet onions.
  2. In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat, add onions, salt, and black pepper, and cook for 25-30 minutes until golden brown. Add garlic and thyme in the last two minutes.
