Description

A simple and fun homemade ice cream recipe using basic ingredients, perfect for a creamy and customizable summer dessert.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 1 cup half and half
  • 2 tablespoons granulated sugar
  • 1/2 teaspoon pure vanilla extract
  • 3 cups ice
  • 1/3 cup kosher salt
  • Toppings of your choice (e.g., chocolate chips, sprinkles, fruits)

Instructions

  1. Combine half and half, sugar, and vanilla extract in a small resealable plastic bag, mix well, and remove excess air. Seal tightly.
  2. Fill a large resealable plastic bag with ice and kosher salt. Place the small bag inside and seal the large bag tightly.
  3. Shake the bags vigorously for 7 to 10 minutes until the mixture inside thickens to ice cream consistency.
  4. Carefully remove the small bag, open it, and serve the ice cream with your favorite toppings.

Notes

  • Ensure bags are tightly sealed to prevent leaks and watery mixture.
  • Do not add too much salt; it only lowers freezing point.
  • For creamier texture, substitute some half and half with heavy cream.
  • Shake continuously for even consistency.
