Description

Ingredients

  • 2/3 cup heavy cream
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 4 oz unsweetened chocolate, chopped
  • 2 Tbsp corn syrup
  • 1 Tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3/4 cup heavy cream (for whipping)
  • 2 Tbsp confectioners’ sugar
  • 1/2 gallon vanilla ice cream
  • Rainbow sprinkles (optional)
  • Crushed peanuts (optional)
  • Maraschino cherries (optional)

Instructions

  1. In a medium saucepan over medium-low heat, combine 2/3 cup heavy cream, granulated sugar, chopped unsweetened chocolate, corn syrup, and butter. Whisk constantly until melted and smooth, about 5–8 minutes. Remove from heat and keep warm.
  2. In a large mixing bowl, whip 3/4 cup heavy cream with 2 tablespoons confectioners’ sugar using a hand mixer on medium-high speed until medium peaks form. Set aside.
  3. Scoop vanilla ice cream into six serving bowls or dessert cups.
  4. Drizzle warm hot fudge sauce over each scoop of ice cream.
  5. Top each sundae with whipped cream, then sprinkle with optional rainbow sprinkles and crushed peanuts.
  6. Finish each sundae with a maraschino cherry on top. Serve immediately.
