- 3 tablespoons gochujang – This Korean red chili paste adds heat and depth.
- 2 tablespoons honey – Sweetness that balances the spice of gochujang.
- 2 tablespoons soy sauce – Adds saltiness and umami to the marinade.
- 3 cloves garlic – Minced for a fragrant kick.
- 1 tablespoon fresh ginger – Grated for a zesty flavor.
- 1 tablespoon sesame oil – Provides a nutty aroma and richness.
- 2 green onions – Chopped for garnish, adding freshness and color.
- Salt and pepper – To taste, enhancing the overall flavor.
Instructions
- Marinate the chicken by placing it in a resealable bag or dish and pouring the marinade over it. Refrigerate for at least 30 minutes.
- Prepare the sauce by mixing gochujang, honey, soy sauce, minced garlic, grated ginger, and sesame oil in a bowl.
- Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C). Place the marinated chicken skin-side up on a baking sheet and season with salt and pepper. Bake for 25-30 minutes.
- Brush the reserved marinade over the chicken during the last 5 minutes of baking for a glossy finish.
- Let the chicken rest for a few minutes before serving, garnished with chopped green onions.
Notes
- For a spicier dish, adjust the amount of gochujang to your taste.
- Consider adding vegetables to the baking sheet for a complete meal.
