Ingredients
- Ground turkey: 1 lb (450 g)
- Honey: 1/4 cup (60 ml)
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons (30 ml)
- Fresh ginger: 1 tablespoon, grated
- Green onions: 3, finely chopped
- Breadcrumbs: 1/2 cup (60 g)
- Egg: 1 large
- Sesame oil: 1 tablespoon (15 ml)
- Black pepper: to taste
Instructions
- In a large mixing bowl, combine ground turkey, minced garlic, grated ginger, and chopped green onions.
- Add breadcrumbs, egg, sesame oil, and black pepper to the mixture and mix gently until combined.
- Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place them on a baking sheet.
- Bake the meatballs in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 20-25 minutes until golden brown and cooked through.
- In a small saucepan, combine honey and soy sauce, heat over medium until simmering, and cook for 3-5 minutes until slightly thickened.
- Drizzle the honey garlic sauce over the baked meatballs and toss to coat evenly.
- Serve the meatballs on a platter, garnished with additional chopped green onions.
Notes
- Use lean or extra lean ground turkey for moist meatballs.
- Do not overmix the meatball mixture to avoid tough meatballs.
- Let the meatballs rest for a few minutes after baking for better flavor.
