  • 6 tablespoons unsalted butter (for frosting, softened)
  • 1 1/4 cups powdered sugar (sifted)
  • 3 tablespoons cocoa powder
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract (for frosting)
  • Sprinkles (for decoration)

Instructions

  1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan.
  2. Mix the dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, and salt in a medium-sized bowl.
  3. Cream the butter with the sugars until fluffy in a large mixing bowl.
  4. Add the egg and vanilla extract, then beat until well combined.
  5. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix until incorporated.
  6. Fold in the chocolate chips and sprinkle some on top.
  7. Press the dough evenly into the cake pan.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden and the surface is dry.
  9. Let the cookie cake cool on a wire rack.
  10. To make the frosting: Beat butter, powdered sugar, cocoa powder, milk, and vanilla until fluffy.
  11. Once the cookie cake is cool, spread or pipe frosting around the edge and add sprinkles for decoration.
