Ingredients

  • Unsweetened cocoa powder – 1/2 cup (50 g)
  • All-purpose flour – 1/2 cup (65 g)
  • Granulated sugar – 1 cup (200 g)
  • Butter – 1/2 cup (113 g), melted
  • Eggs – 2 large
  • Cream cheese – 8 oz (225 g), softened
  • Vanilla extract – 1 teaspoon (5 ml)
  • Food coloring (orange) – as needed
  • Salt – 1/4 teaspoon (1 g)

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and prepare an 8×8 inch (20×20 cm) baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
  2. In a medium bowl, combine melted butter and granulated sugar until smooth. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition, then stir in vanilla extract.
  3. In a separate bowl, beat softened cream cheese until smooth. Add 1/4 cup of granulated sugar and one egg, mixing until well combined. Add orange food coloring to achieve desired shade.
  4. Pour half of the brownie batter into the prepared pan, then dollop spoonfuls of the cream cheese mixture over it. Use a knife to swirl the cream cheese into the brownie batter. Pour the remaining brownie batter on top and repeat the swirling process.
  5. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out with a few moist crumbs.
  6. Let the brownies cool in the pan for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
