Description

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground lamb
  • 1 lb ground beef
  • 4 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1 onion, chopped
  • 2 tsp dried oregano
  • 1 tsp ground cumin
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
  • 2 tbsp olive oil

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine the ground lamb and ground beef.
  2. Add the minced garlic, chopped onion, dried oregano, ground cumin, salt, and black pepper. Mix well.
  3. Transfer the mixture onto a prepared baking sheet and form it into a loaf, about 2 inches thick.
  4. Drizzle olive oil over the top of the meat loaf and bake in a preheated oven at 375°F (190°C) for 45-55 minutes.
  5. Let the gyro meat rest for about 10 minutes, then slice into thin strips and serve in pita bread with toppings.
