Description
A delicious and versatile dip made primarily from ripe avocados, perfect for parties and gatherings.
Ingredients
Scale
- 3 ripe avocados
- 1 lime
- 1/4 cup red onion, finely chopped
- 1/4 cup fresh cilantro, chopped
- 1 jalapeño, seeded and finely chopped
- 1 clove garlic, minced
- 1/2 teaspoon salt
- 1 medium tomato, diced
Instructions
- Prepare the avocados by cutting them in half, removing the pit, and scooping the flesh into a mixing bowl. Mash to your desired consistency.
- Add the juice of one lime and salt to the mashed avocado, mixing gently.
- Incorporate the chopped red onion, cilantro, jalapeño, and minced garlic, stirring carefully to maintain texture.
- Fold in the diced tomatoes and adjust seasoning as needed. Optionally, add Greek yogurt for creaminess.
Notes
- Choose avocados that yield slightly to pressure for ripeness.
- Store leftover guacamole with plastic wrap pressed directly onto the surface to minimize browning.
- Guacamole can be served with tortilla chips, tacos, or as a spread on sandwiches.
