Ingredients
- Ground beef: 1 lb (450 g)
- Corn tostada shells: 8 pieces
- Refried beans: 1 can (15 oz or 425 g)
- Shredded lettuce: 2 cups
- Diced tomatoes: 1 cup
- Avocado: 1 medium, diced
- Shredded cheese: 1 cup (cheddar or Mexican blend)
- Sour cream: 1/2 cup
- Salsa: 1 cup
- Olive oil: 1 tablespoon
- Salt and pepper: to taste
Instructions
- Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add olive oil.
- Add ground beef, season with salt and pepper, and cook for 7-10 minutes, breaking it into small crumbles.
- If making homemade tostada shells, preheat oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake corn tortillas for 5-7 minutes until crispy.
- Spread a layer of warm refried beans on each tostada shell.
- Add a portion of cooked ground beef on top of the beans.
- Layer shredded lettuce, diced tomatoes, diced avocado, and shredded cheese on top.
- Drizzle sour cream and add salsa on each tostada. Optionally, sprinkle with chopped cilantro.
