Ingredients

  • Fresh salmon fillets: 4 pieces (about 6 oz each)
  • Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
  • Lime juice: 1/4 cup (freshly squeezed)
  • Butter: 1/2 cup (1 stick)
  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons
  • Salt: to taste
  • Pepper: to taste
  • Lime zest: 1 tablespoon (for garnish)
  • Fresh parsley or cilantro: for garnish (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the marinade by combining minced garlic, lime juice, olive oil, salt, and pepper in a small bowl.
  2. Marinate the salmon fillets in a shallow dish or resealable bag for at least 30 minutes.
  3. Make the garlic lime butter by melting butter in a saucepan, adding minced garlic, and cooking until fragrant.
  4. Preheat the grill to medium-high heat.
  5. Grill the salmon skin-side down for 4-6 minutes, then flip and grill for an additional 3-5 minutes.
  6. Brush the salmon with garlic lime butter during the last minute of grilling, then serve garnished with lime zest and herbs.
