Description

Grilled peaches with bourbon caramel is a delightful dessert that combines the sweetness of ripe peaches with rich caramel flavors, perfect for summer gatherings.

Ingredients

Scale
  • 4 ripe peaches: Choose peaches that are firm yet slightly soft to the touch.
  • 2 tablespoons olive oil: Prevents sticking and adds flavor.
  • 1 cup granulated sugar: Base for the caramel sauce.
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter: Adds richness to the caramel.
  • 1/2 cup heavy cream: Provides a luxurious texture to the sauce.
  • 1/4 cup bourbon: Adds a warm, complex flavor.
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract: Enhances the overall flavor profile.
  • Pinch of salt: Balances the sweetness of the caramel.
  • Fresh mint leaves (for garnish, optional): Adds a refreshing touch to the presentation.

Instructions

  1. Preheat your grill to medium heat.
  2. Cut the peaches in half and remove the pits. Brush the cut sides with olive oil.
  3. In a medium saucepan, combine sugar and water over medium heat, stirring until dissolved. Let it boil until it turns deep amber (8-10 minutes).
  4. Add unsalted butter to the caramel, stirring until melted. Then, slowly pour in heavy cream while stirring continuously.
  5. Add bourbon, vanilla extract, and a pinch of salt to the caramel, stirring until smooth.
  6. Place peach halves cut-side down on the grill and grill for 4-5 minutes. Flip and grill for an additional 2-3 minutes.
  7. Remove peaches from the grill and let them cool slightly. Serve with warm bourbon caramel sauce and garnish with mint leaves if desired.
