Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a cupcake pan with cupcake liners.
- In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the dry ingredients: flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking soda, baking powder, and salt.
- Cream together the softened butter until light and fluffy, then add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in buttermilk and vanilla extract.
- Gradually add the dry mixture to the wet ingredients and mix until just combined. Fold in the chopped ghost peppers.
- Pour the batter into the prepared cupcake liners, filling each about two-thirds full. Bake for 18-20 minutes.
- Let the cupcakes cool in the pan for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely.
- Prepare the frosting by beating the softened butter until creamy, then gradually add powdered sugar, vanilla extract, and heavy cream until fluffy.
