Ingredients

  • Spaghetti: 8 oz (about 225 g)
  • Large shrimp: 1 lb (about 450 g), peeled and deveined
  • Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
  • Olive oil: 4 tablespoons, divided
  • Red pepper flakes: 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
  • Fresh parsley: 1/4 cup, chopped
  • Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons (freshly squeezed)
  • Parmesan cheese: 1/2 cup, grated
  • Salt and black pepper: to taste

Instructions

  1. Prepare the shrimp by peeling and deveining if necessary, then season with salt and pepper.
  2. Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente, reserving some pasta water before draining.
  3. In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and cook the shrimp until pink, then set aside.
  4. In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant.
  5. Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat, and add reserved pasta water if needed.
  6. Return the shrimp to the skillet, add lemon juice and parsley, and toss to combine.
  7. Serve the pasta garnished with additional parsley and Parmesan cheese.
