Ingredients
- Spaghetti: 8 oz (about 225 g)
- Large shrimp: 1 lb (about 450 g), peeled and deveined
- Garlic: 4 cloves, minced
- Olive oil: 4 tablespoons, divided
- Red pepper flakes: 1 teaspoon (adjust to taste)
- Fresh parsley: 1/4 cup, chopped
- Lemon juice: 2 tablespoons (freshly squeezed)
- Parmesan cheese: 1/2 cup, grated
- Salt and black pepper: to taste
Instructions
- Prepare the shrimp by peeling and deveining if necessary, then season with salt and pepper.
- Cook the spaghetti in salted boiling water until al dente, reserving some pasta water before draining.
- In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil and cook the shrimp until pink, then set aside.
- In the same skillet, add remaining olive oil, garlic, and red pepper flakes, sautéing until fragrant.
- Add the cooked spaghetti to the skillet, tossing to coat, and add reserved pasta water if needed.
- Return the shrimp to the skillet, add lemon juice and parsley, and toss to combine.
- Serve the pasta garnished with additional parsley and Parmesan cheese.
