Instructions
- Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Peel and chop apples into small bite-sized pieces.
- In a large bowl, whisk together flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, and salt.
- In another bowl, beat eggs, then add granulated sugar, brown sugar, vegetable oil, milk, and vanilla extract. Mix until combined.
- Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture, stirring gently. Fold in apples and nuts (if using).
- Pour batter into a greased 9×13-inch baking dish and bake for 45-55 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted comes out clean.
- Let the cake cool for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely. Slice and serve.
