  • Pinch of salt
  • Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions

  1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease an 8-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
  2. Cream together the softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy, about 2-3 minutes.
  3. Add eggs one at a time, beating well after each addition.
  4. Stir in ground cardamom, vanilla extract, lemon zest (if using), and a pinch of salt until evenly combined.
