Description

Ingredients

  • 2 teaspoons salt
  • 1 packet (2 1/4 teaspoons) active dry yeast
  • 1 1/2 cups warm water
  • 1/4 cup olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon sugar
  • Sea salt for topping
  • Fresh herbs (rosemary or thyme) for topping

Instructions

  1. In a mixing bowl, combine warm water and sugar. Sprinkle yeast on top and let it sit for 5 minutes.
  2. Add flour, salt, and olive oil to the yeast mixture. Mix until a dough forms.
  3. Knead the dough on a floured surface for 10 minutes until smooth.
  4. Place the dough in a greased bowl, cover, and let it rise for 1 hour or until doubled in size.
  5. Preheat the oven to 425°F (220°C).
  6. Transfer the dough to a greased baking sheet and press it out to fit.
  7. Make dimples in the dough with your fingers and drizzle with olive oil. Sprinkle sea salt and herbs on top.
  8. Bake for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  9. Let it cool slightly before slicing.
