Description
Egyptian Kofta Kebab is a delicious dish made from ground meat, typically beef or lamb, mixed with spices, herbs, and onions, shaped into long kebabs and grilled to perfection.
Ingredients
Scale
- 500 grams ground beef or lamb
- 1 finely grated onion
- 2 cloves minced garlic
- 1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
- 1 tsp ground cumin
- 1 tsp ground coriander
- Salt to taste
- Black pepper to taste
- 1 tbsp olive oil
- Optional: pinch of cayenne pepper, lemon juice, grated zucchini, or bell peppers
Instructions
- Gather all ingredients in a large mixing bowl and combine the ground meat with onion, garlic, parsley, spices, and olive oil.
- Shape the mixture into elongated kebabs, about 4-6 inches long.
- Marinate the kebabs in the refrigerator for a few hours or overnight for enhanced flavor.
- Preheat the grill to medium-high heat and brush with olive oil.
- Grill the kebabs for about 4-5 minutes on each side until charred and cooked through.
Notes
- Avoid overmixing the meat to prevent tough kebabs.
- Use enough fat in the mixture to keep the kebabs juicy.
- Do not overcrowd the grill for even cooking.
- Let the kebabs rest after grilling to redistribute juices.
