Ingredients

  • Ground beef: 1 lb (450 g)
  • Breadcrumbs: 1/2 cup (60 g)
  • Egg: 1 large
  • Garlic: 3 cloves, minced
  • Ginger: 1 tablespoon, grated
  • Soy sauce: 2 tablespoons
  • Honey: 2 tablespoons
  • Sriracha: 1 tablespoon (adjust to taste)
  • Sesame oil: 1 tablespoon
  • Green onions: 2, finely chopped (for garnish)
  • Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Pepper: 1/2 teaspoon
  • Olive oil: 2 tablespoons (for cooking)

Instructions

  1. In a large mixing bowl, combine ground beef, breadcrumbs, and egg.
  2. Add minced garlic, grated ginger, soy sauce, honey, sriracha, sesame oil, salt, and pepper. Mix gently.
  3. Shape the mixture into meatballs, about 1.5 inches in diameter, and place on a lined baking sheet.
  4. Preheat the oven to 400°F (200°C) and bake the meatballs for 20-25 minutes until golden brown.
  5. Prepare the sweet and spicy sauce by mixing equal parts honey and sriracha in a small bowl.
  6. Brush the sauce over the meatballs during the last 5 minutes of baking.
  7. Let the meatballs cool for a few minutes before serving, garnished with chopped green onions.

Notes

  • For a leaner option, substitute ground beef with ground turkey or chicken.
  • Adjust the spice level by varying the amount of sriracha.
  • Store leftovers in an airtight container for up to 3-4 days in the refrigerator.
  • Meatballs can be frozen for up to 3 months; bake from frozen with additional cooking time.
