Description

Ingredients
- All-purpose flour: 2 cups (240 grams)
- Granulated sugar: 1 cup (200 grams)
- Brown sugar: 1 cup (packed, 220 grams)
- Unsalted butter: 1 cup (226 grams), softened
- Eggs: 2 large
- Vanilla extract: 2 teaspoons
- Baking powder: 2 teaspoons
- Ground cinnamon: 2 teaspoons (plus more for topping)
- Salt: 1/2 teaspoon
Instructions
- Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C).
- Prepare a 9×13 inch baking pan by greasing it or lining it with parchment paper.
- In a separate bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, ground cinnamon, and salt.
- Cream the softened butter with the granulated and brown sugars until light and fluffy.
- Add the eggs and vanilla extract, mixing well after each addition. Gradually add the dry ingredients to the wet mixture and mix on low speed until just combined.
- Pour the batter into the prepared baking pan and spread it evenly.
- Mix together 2 tablespoons of granulated sugar and 1 teaspoon of ground cinnamon for the topping, then sprinkle it over the batter.
- Bake for 20-25 minutes until the edges are golden brown and a toothpick inserted into the center comes out clean.
- Let the bars cool for 10-15 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack to cool completely before cutting into squares.
Notes
- Use fresh ingredients for the best results.
- Don’t overmix the batter to keep the bars soft and chewy.
- Adjust baking time for desired texture: 20 minutes for chewy, 25 minutes for crispy.
